What Are We Thinking About Today?

Paying attention to my "self talk" become important to me several years ago after a long struggle with negativity which is where I knew I didn't want to stay..  So, I started on the path of investigating how I could improve my thought life.

What I learned was, when I'm not paying attention to my thoughts my mind gets behind the driver's seat and goes for a joy ride which then activates my emotional/behavioral road map. Other times, I was the willing participant who came in agreement of thinking it through and then choosing to plant it in my mind. Or, at the very least allowing it to sit there.  But every time I did this, my mind would begin to gently nudge it towards a category or theme within its intellectual framework.  By the time I'd realized it, it was stored away, allowed to sprout another "self planted opinion" which most of the time would lead me away from anything positive.

When I started taking time to pay attention to my thoughts and work my way through them, I found myself redirecting my steps towards the path of change that brought me back into the unity of a positive, healthy mind.  This existence not only is the framework that God designed all of us to live within, but also lays the foundation for us to become more aware, due to a clearer mind, of receiving God's spirit that He infuses us daily with.
